WBPF World Men’s Bodybuilding Championship 2009 in Dubai
The First World Men’s Bodybuilding Championship and Electoral Congress were held in UAE last November 3-8 at the Al Ahli Club, Dubai.
The Overall best performing countries are:
First Place: Iran
Second Place: Iraq
3rd Place: UAE
Iran dominates all other countries in the recently concluded WBPF Men’s World Bodybuilding Championship 2009. But UAE were awarded the gold medal for staging one of the best ever bodybuilding competition.
“I think this is one of the best championship we have ever witnessed “said Paul Chua, S
ecretary General of the world body who has seen over 40 world bodybuilding championships. The reason is because everything is in order and the organizers are very hospitable in every way possible. No protesters and every body is happy with the results .
This is a milestone in bodybuilding because this time we combined everything together . There was great sportsmanship, organizational excellence and good hearted approach, “said Axel Bauer, Vice-President of Europe WBPF. The hospitality from the side of UAE is excellent, specially from our President Osama Al Shafar who gave so much energy, time and money to make this competition a success. We are very grateful to have him as the president and UAE as the host country, he added.
Bauer also acknowledged Asia as really catching up although Europe is a strong continent.
However the top officials of the WBPF were not surprised about Iran’s dominating power.
“I believe that Iran is really a strong country. A lot of people practice this sport and they give all they have. I was not surprised by the Iranians made a fabulous performance . All there athletes were in unbelievable shape. They are deserving winners not only in many categories but also on the overall title. I have to congratulate the Iranians under the leadership of President Nasser Pouralifard for doing a great job “, said Bauer.
